Why Does the Stream App Need My Personal Data?

We need to ask you for some personal details before we can offer you our services. This may include asking for a photograph of an ID document. This is something all financial companies in the UK must do. It is called Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML). These are rules set by the government to make sure money is not being used for bad things like crime or funding harmful activities. By collecting this information, we make sure we know who our customers are and keep everyone’s money safe.

We have partnered with Onfido, a third-party verification company, to conduct upgraded security checks using these personal details and proof of ID (if required).

Rest assured, this information is protected according to all privacy and data handling requirements. For more information on this, please visit the Onfido Privacy Policy. For more information on how Stream processes and stores data, please visit our Trust Centre.

Wherever possible, we follow the data minimization principle. This means that the data we process is necessary for us to:

  • Enroll you in the Stream service.

  • Provide you with the Stream service.

The success of the Stream service also relies on your employer sharing certain data related to your employment with us on an ongoing basis.
