Why Can't I Put More Than £100 / £1000 in My Build Pot?

☔️ One in five people in the UK have less than £100 in savings and are not ready for financial emergencies. To encourage financial resilience, the Stream app gives workers a simple way to set aside regular contributions directly from their salary each month.

Our Build pot feature is designed to be a rainy-day fund. It helps you build a small financial buffer to cover unexpected expenses. It is not meant to be a place to store a lot of money for a long time. This is for a few reasons:

  • There is no way to transfer money from other accounts into the Stream app, including your Build pot.

  • Regulatory differences prevent your pots from working like a traditional savings account.

  • Build pot funds are held in an e-money account. The e-money is held in a separate safeguarding account. E-money accounts are not part of the FSCS Protection Scheme because they are mainly for spending.

Once a larger amount, such as £1000, is saved, users can either leave the funds in their pot or transfer them to an external account to further their financial goals.
